ADOPTED DOGS 2020

"Rosie" came to DunRoamin' on November 10, 2020.  She was born about April 10, 2020 and is mastiff mixed breed..  She lived happily in a home with small children, but her size and exuberant nature made it difficult for her to be around small humans.

As of November 13, 2020, thanks to her (and our) friends at Paw & Order, Rosie now lives in Nova Scotia with a lady who adares her!  She is a sweet little girl who is looking forward to this wonderful new life.  Thanks, Paw & Order!  You've changed the life of yet another dog!

"Halen" is a 3-4 year old neutered lab mix who came to us on October 3, 2020.  He is a sweet boy with lots of personality!   He enjoys going in the car, going for walks and loves attention!  He is very loving, food motivated and wants nothing more than belly rubs and walks with his new family.  Halen would do best with an adult-only family that spends lots of time at home. He does show some signs of separation anxiety when left alone.  Halen can be particular with other dogs and he would need to meet any housemates prior to adoption or be in an only-dog household.  He has previously lived with cats but does have the desire to chase, so he does well with cats that aren’t particularly fearful of him.

Halen is neutered and fully up-to-date on his vaccines and parasite control.  He was named in honour of Eddie van Halen and  he hopes to meet a new family soon with whom to spend the rest of his life.

Halen was so very fortunate to spend time with our friends at Paw & Order, Keswick, NB, where he was treated like a king!  He was soon doing very well with the excellent training and care provided and . . .

. . . on November 8, 2020, we learned that Halen had found the family he had always wanted!  He now lives in Woodstock with his new friends - we couldn't be happier for him!  Thanks again to Stephanie and her team at Paw & Order - please check them out!  You cannot possibly find better friends for you and your canine family members!

"Frannie" originally came to DunRoamin' on September 15, 2017 from the Hartland area.  She is a Sharpei mix who was born about September 15, 2011.  On November 25, 2017, Frannie was returned from her new home in Saint John through no fault of her own.  She is an active, intelligent dog who gets along with other dogs as long as they are introduced in a stable, controlled environment.  Frannie lives with two other dogs and meets new foster dogs on a regular basis.

Frannie is an avid squirrel monitor and can spot them a mile away.  She loves lots of exercise but will chase other animals and needs to be leashed or in a fenced area at all times.  Inside, she is a great companion and is very eager to please and learn new tricks.  She loves all humans and dogs as long as they are introduced properly.  She has not had exposure to cats yet.  Frannie's ideal home would be with an active couple or family with older children who are looking for an energetic, smart and loving companion and are able to work with her during doggie introductions.  She has been waiting a long time for her forever family to find her, but she knows it will be worth it in the end.

On September 28, 2020, Frannie's wait came to an end.  A very nice couple from Woodstock met Frannie and fell in love.  They are well experienced with dogs similar to this beautiful little girl and vow to give her the very best home ever.  Congratulations, Frannie - and congratulations to your family!  You both are very fortunate to have found each other!

"Bacon" became a DunRoamin' dog when he was taken in by our friends at Paw & Order, Keswick, when his family could no longer keep him.  He is a beautiful little French Bulldog who was born about September 1, 2015.  Bacon needs a home and family with no young children and where he will get lots of love, attention and exercise.  He has met some other bulldogs while at Paw & Order and gets along really well with them all!

On September 15, 2020, we received good news:  Bacon had been adopted by a family who had met him and fallen in love!  And . . . they already have two dogs with whom Bacon had become fast friends.  Now they'll be family!  Congratulations, Bacon!  Thanks again to Paw & Order for the many things they do for all their friends.  We are all lucky to have them!!

"Drucilla" came to DunRoamin' on September 2, 2020 through the NB SPCA.  She was born about August 20, 2015 and is a Retriever mix.  She had chronic ear infections in both ears and dermatitis on all feet upon her arrival, both of which were treated with medications.

Drucilla is a beautiful little girl.  She likes everyone she has met, enjoys walks and loves Beggin' Strips (they're her very favourite).  She has begun her vaccine protocol.  She is quiet and attentive and just seems to want to be around people.  She will happily lay at your feet while you work, make phone calls, or just be there to keep you company - it's her favourite place to be.  She is not extremely energetic, but certainly does enjoy her walks in the country!  She is happy to please her human servants.

Drucilla is currently on medication (both oral and topical) which will make her drink and pee a lot while she is on it.  She is not yet spayed, but will be once her course of medications is completed.

On September 16, 2020, Drucilla was introduced to a family in Woodstock who has a DunRoamin' dog who had recently lost his best canine friend to old age.  Both fell in love immediately.  They immediately started running, playing, chasing and having a ball with each other - the rest is history!  They are now part of a wonderful family who has adopted a total of eight DunRoamin' cats and dogs over the years.  Thank you for adding another to a wonderful family!  Congratulations, Drucilla!  Congratulations, Corro!!

"Keaton" came to DunRoamin' from the NB SPCA on July 2, 2020.  He had a dirty coat, poor body condition, worn teeth and a large tumour on his back.  Keaton was born about June 25, 2013.

Keaton, with much love and care, is SO much better today!  He loves people, he is kind, gentle, affectionate, attentive and a very good boy.  Keaton has been neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and his tumour hasa been removed.  Results from this tumour indicate that it is benign, so will not be an issue in the future.  This particular type of tumour can sometimes be found on the backs or back end of unneutered dogs, but should another tumour ever occur (unlikely), it may be easily removed as it will not be cancerous.

Keaton is a beautiful little boy who wishes for a loving home and family.  Although he enjoys going for drives and slow, interesting, exploratory walks, he also enjoys hanging out quietly and comfortably with a human or two.  He's the perfect companion!

On July 30, 2020, Keaton was elated to learn that he had been invited to join the family of a couple who had been missing having a beautiful dog in their home and he certainly fit the bill!  He will be spoiled for life now!  Congratulations, Keaton, to both you and your new family!  Send pictures!!

"Tallow" came to DunRoamin' on March 16, 2020.  She had been experiencing some diarrhea that had not been resolved and had no one who could help her.

Tallow was born about September 19, 2019 and is a beautiful little girl.  She is very affectionate, happy, loving and playful.  She is on a special diet to help control her diarrhea.  She is a Shepherd mixed-breed little girl who is very smart, trusting and eager to please.  She loves to play with other dogs, is cuddly when she is tired and requires a medium-to-high amount of exercise to accomplish this. If overwhelmed, she tends to forget all that she has learned, but a bit of training and structure will make a huge difference in her life - she's looking forward to taking a course or two so she can be all that she can be!  As she can be quite vocal at times, she may not be the best addition to apartment living!  She also is learning not to jump on people, so perhaps a home without young children may be best at this time.  Tallow is crate trained and house trained.  She will require a fibre diet and medication, perhaps ongoing.

On June 17, 2020, Tallow was adopted by her foster mother.  She now lives in Hartland where she enjoys the pleasure of her permanent family.  Congratulations, Tallow!

"Sisto" originally came to DunRoamin' from the Bath area on March 10, 2020, where he had been struck by a vehicle resulting in a broken hind leg.  He was surrendered to DunRoamin' and underwent surgery to repair his leg.  He was adopted on May 2, 2020, but returned to us on May 29, 2020 as he was too much puppy!  He did not enjoy being kenneled and chewed his bedding if left alone - he very much loves to be with people.  He is learning many things such as not to jump up - he's still very young and gets quite excited.  He's also learning how to walk on a leash without pulling, and potential adopters were asked to provide the name of a trainer whom they will use to ensure he gets the training he requires.  He loves to please people and is very gentle when given treats, which he loves.

Sisto loves to go for walks, loves to chase balls and loves to be with people.  As he has never had any formal training to our knowledge, we are certain it will definitely be to his benefit, and potential adopters are required to commit to obedience training.  He wants to please - he just hasn't learned how to do that in every way yet, but he's well on his way!

On June 15, 2020, we were happy to learn that Sisto was adopted by a couple who has fallen in love with this little guy.  He will get lots of love, lots of exercise, lots of attention and most importantly, lots of training so he can be the best boy he can be.  He loves to please, so he will do very well!  Congratulations, Sisto.  Please send lots of photos.  We will really miss you.

"Sisto" came to DunRoamin' on March 10, 2020 from the Bath area where he had been struck by a vehicle, thereby sustaining a broken right hind leg.  He was surrendered to DunRoamin' and underwent surgery to repair his leg.  He then underwent kennel rest until mid-April to ensure his leg healed properly.

Sisto was born about April 10, 2019 and is a Shepherd mixed-breed.  He weighs about 60 pounds and is a beautiful boy who learned quickly that he was safe and will be cared for.  His favourite new vet is staying up to date with his every wish and whim for recovery.   Although he may need a slow introduction to some dogs, he seems fine with most dogs he's met, as well as cats and people.

X-rays in mid-April showed that Sisto's leg is healing well and he's now able to go for short walks which he loves, especially now that the weather is getting a little nicer.   He knows "Sit" and "Down," and although he was not great at coming when you call - at least not the first or second time, he has learned to come on command almost every time.  He's very smart!  He would love to have some obedience training, though, because he really does like to please.  He loves attention and likes to play with his ball.

On May 2, 2020, Sisto was adopted by a family in Hartland.  He has a new canine sister, Bailey, whom he loves already.  She tolerates him but is already starting to fall for his sweetness!  They are going to be the best of friends and he is anxious to join his new family.  Congratulations, Sisto!  Send us lots of photos!!

"Alfraido" came to DunRoamin' from the NBSPCA on December 19, 2019.  He was estimated to be about a year (or two) of age, weighed a little more than 40 lbs and is a mixed breed (maybe collie and lab).  When he arrived he was terrified, in full "fight or flight" mode.  The doctors and staff of the Florenceville Vet Clinic took turns sitting with him, talking to him, bribing him with Timbits, turkey and anything else they could get him to eat.  After a few days he decided that maybe people were not so bad, and now he is a loving, outgoing, friendly little fella.  "Fraido" has been neutered and vaccinated, and has no health concerns.  He is ready to go to a loving home.

He will do best in a home where there are no small children, and with an owner who is experienced (someone who can read and respect his body language, especially to recognize when he is stressed).  Alfraido can be fearful of some men but loves all women he has met.  He is good in his kennel and loves to go for leash walks, and drives to Tim Horton's too.  He is okay with some dogs, but has tussled with others, so applicants who have other dogs will need to bring their dogs in to meet him to see if they will get along.  We have not tested him with cats yet.  His house-training is ongoing.  He loves toys, bones and chasing a laser light at night.

On March 25, 2020, Alfraido joined his new family in Upper Kingsclear where he is happy beyond words.  He has his own Facebook page, "Al Fraido" and has promised to stay in touch - we can't wait to watch you blossom even more, handsome boy!  Thanks to all who had a part in making his new life possible - it changed his world COMPLETELY!

"Denver" came to DunRoamin' on March 14, 2020 from Fosterville.  He was born about August 18, 2013 and is a Yorkshire Terrier.  He had moderate tartar on his teeth and a history of allergic skin disease.  Sadly, he was due to be euthanized.

Denver was accepted by DunRoamin' and is eating a Royal Canin Hypo-allergenic diet with which he is doing well.  He was initially timid of some people but loves his canine and feline foster siblings so much that . . .

. . . on March 23, 2020, he was invited to become an official family member.  He is grateful for his new home and family and is looking forward to his new life.  Congratulations to you and to your new family, Denver!  Way to go!!

"Olenna" is a little Maltese who came to us on December 3, 2019 through the NBSPCA.   She was matted, thin (weighed approximately 7.5 pounds), had ear mites and severe dental tartar which caused the need for her teeth to be extracted.  She was born about June 3, 2015.

Olenna is fostered by a very caring vet tech who has both cats and dogs and Olenna enjoys them all.  Olenna loves to snuggle and sleeps beside her foster mother each night.  She loves to play with smaller toys and enjoys tossing them in the air and jumping at them.

Olenna is doing very well with pee pad training but, since it's so cold outdoors, doesn't enjoy going outside.  Warmer weather will most probably change that!

Olenna has a tiny bit of separation anxiety when her foster mother first leaves her home, but she settles after a few minutes and does fine.  Olenna hopes for a loving home very soon where she can begin the next and best phase of her life with a loving family.

On March 3, 2020, Olenna was adopted by a very nice lady in Moncton.  Congratulations, Olenna.  We're looking forward to seeing photos of you in your new home!

"Chiquita" came to us on February 3, 2020 from the Centreville area.  She was overweight and had allopecia (hair loss) due to allergies.  Chiquita was provided all medical care required and was placed on a prescription diet to help her lose weight.  She is doing well on her medications and diet and hopefully will soon be well.

On February 25, 2020, Chiquita met a gentleman who has lots of experience with dogs.  She will be well cared for in her new home as she continues to work on her goal of a healthy weight and overcoming her medical condition.  Congratulations, Chiquita!  Please stay in touch and send us lots of photos!

"Ravioli" came to us from the NBSPCA on January 6, 2020.  He had been born on December 17, 2019, and is the biggest of all the pups.  He appears to be a collie mix.  His foster mother has this to say about this little boy:

"We could not get over how he was almost double the size of the others when I brought them home.  He wanted nothing to do with the bottle and went straight for the dog food.  He gets around the house great and is starting to show interest in playing with our two old dogs.  He lets out the funniest noises when you play with him!  I can already tell he is going to be very playful from the way he bites the blankets and torments his siblings."

Ravioli will be neutered, vaccinated, treated for all parasites and will be ready for a home about mid-February 2020.

On February 24, 2020, Ravioli was very excited to go to his new home in Fredericton where he'll live the life he deserves.  Congratulations, Rav!  Way to go!  Send lots of pictures - your foster mom will miss you and will love to see you as you grown!

"Mac" came to DunRoamin' on January 6, 2020 from the NBSPCA.  He was born on December 17, 2019 along with four siblings.  Mac had the biggest personality of all the puppies.  He appeared to be a collie mix.  This is what his foster mother had to say about him:

"When I first met this fella he had just opened his eyes hours ago and was howling - nose tilted to the sky and mouth in a circle, letting out the cutest noise I have ever heard.  This became a game to him - when I howl, he automatically will start howling with me!   When he doesn't get what he wants or when I am getting his food ready, he will sit there and howl!  He is starting to become more playful - he will chase your feet and wants to put everything in his mouth.  No doubt he is going to make a great pet!"

Mac will be fully vaccinated, neutered and treated for all parasites as is standard for all DunRoamin' dogs.

On February 22, 2020, Mac was excited to begin his new life in Fredericton with a couple who loves him terribly!  Congratulations to all.  Please send photos, Mac, so we can watch you grow with your family!

"Tiana" came to us on September 26, 2019 from the NBSPCA, one of ten dogs who needed medical assistance on this day.  She is a Maltese who had severe tartar and gingivitis as well.  She also had masses growing on her stomach and neck.  Her nails were overgrown and she was very matted and dirty.  She required dental work with multiple extractions and also underwent surgery to remove the masses.  Tiana was born about September 18, 2014.

Tiana was fostered by her (and our) very good friends in Woodstock where she lived with several other dogs and cats whom she loved.  She was spoiled each and every hour of each and every day and she received the best of everything until she was ready to leave for her new home.

Her foster mother reported the following:  "Tiana is more of a home-body.  She gets anxious in the car and is easily startled by loud noises, but despite this, she does well in a home and gets along great with the other cats and dogs with whom she is fostered.  She is defensive over her food bowl with other animals, but lets her human give and take her food without issue.  She is kennel trained and prefers to eat in private.  She prefers to be around people and will make a great companion to someone willing to take the time to earn her trust."

Tiana is a very lucky girl.  She is grateful to all who have or will help her on her way to love, health and happiness and she is particularly grateful to her foster mother and father - so are we.

On February 19, 2020, Tiana was excited to learn that she was invited to join a family in Fredericton where she will live happily ever after.  Congratulations, little one!  Send lots of photos!!

"Orzo" came to us from the NBSPCA as the tiniest of a litter of five puppies on January 6, 2020.  She was born on December 17, 2019 and appears to be a collie mix.  This is what her foster mother has to say about her:

"Being the tiniest of the bunch, I always find her on the bottom of the doggy pile when they are all sleeping.  She has not developed as quickly as the others and is still being bottle fed, but is slowly picking up on eating dog food off a plate.  When I get her out to bottle feed her, she gets extremely excited and squirms around frantically looking for food.  Her pudgy belly says she gets lots!  After drinking her milk, she goes into a food coma and will sit in her kennel as her head bobs, trying not to fall asleep!"

Orzo will be spayed, vaccinated, treated for all parasites and is anxious to join a family of her very own!

On February 18, 2020, Orzo's best wish came true when she joined a very nice family in Moncton.  Congratulations, Orzo!  We'll look forward to your visits!  Please send lots of photos!

"Pibble" came to DunRoamin' on January 28, 2020.  She was very thin, had an infection on her chest and was diabetic.  She was immediately assessed by her new vet who prescribed food and medications  which include twice-daily insulin shots and we're sure she'll be fine in the near future once she puts on some weight.  She was also diagnosed with severe changes in her spine, but she'll get the very best care for that, also.

Pibble was born about January 28, 2009 and is a sweetheart.  She loves all people, dogs, cats - she loves EVERYTHING!   Her tail never stops wagging, especially when her best new friend is around.

On January 30, 2020, Pibble was adopted by her loving foster mom - it only took two days to fall head over heals in love with this old lady!  Way to go, Pibble!  You've got the best of everything ahead of you!  Congratulations!!

"Cricket" came to us on September 26, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She is a Lhasa Apso mix who weighed about 18 pounds and was born about September 18, 2014.  Upon arrival, Cricket was matted and dirty, but a nice bath and grooming helped immensely.  She was mildly thin and had moderate tartar and gingivitis which were treated with the help of a dental cleaning.  Cricket also required dental extractions and was not spayed.  She had ear mites and long nails as well.

Cricket is a free-spirited daddy's girl who loves car rides and exploring new things.  She is confident and chock full of personality.  She has a bit of anxiety when left alone, but is kennel trained to avoid those issues.  She is house trained and will walk on a leash.  She is fostered with, and gets along great with cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes.  Once she finishes her health regimen, she'll be on her way.   Thanks to all who donated to help her have a whole new life and we thank her foster mother and father for all the love and care she is now receiving.

On January 15, 2020, Cricket was officially welcomed into her foster family as a permanent member.  Congratulations, Cricket!  That's the life (and family!) you deserve!!

"Blossom" came to DunRoamin' from the Hartland area on August 7, 2019.  She had fleas and was missing much fur, most likely due to flea allergy dermatitis.  She has been treated and her fur has grown back nicely - she's doing very well!  Blossom was born about September 4, 2014 and is a sweetheart.  She is a Shepherd mix who is loving and full of energy.  She knows basic commands, but will enjoy and benefit from formal and consistent training, as will any dog.

Blossom is initially a bit timid when meeting new people and usually becomes comfortable with women faster than men.   She is good around other dogs and lived with cats in her previous home, so has no issues with them at all.  She happily walks on a leash and is house trained.  She is highly motivated by food but has no aggressive tendencies.

Blossom is a sweet little girl who would very much like to meet the family that will love her forever.  She can't wait!

On January 4, 2020, Blossom was welcomed into a home in Bayside where she is already in love with her new best friend.  Blossom would like to thank all who have made this journey possible for her and would like to say a special thank you to Jay, her loving foster father.  Send us lots of photos, Blossom!

"Ashton" came to DunRoamin' from the Hartland area on August 7, 2019.  She had fleas and was missing much fur, most likely due to flea allergy dermatitis.  She was treated and her fur grew back nicely - she's doing very well!  Ashton, a Shepherd mix, was born about September 4, 2014 and is a sweetheart.  Ashton is full of energy and loves other dogs.  She will play until she has tired out everyone else!  She was fostered with several cats and loves them as well.  She knows a few basic commands, but will enjoy formal and consistent training.

Ashton was adopted but proved too much for her new owner.  She came back to us and awaited that perfect home.  She is a beautiful little girl who loves other dogs and enjoys lots of interaction.  Her foster mother says she's all personality, loves people and has found such unique sleeping spots where she can curl up and have a nap!

On January 4, 2020, Ashton was formally accepted into the loving home of a lady in Dieppe where she'll have the life she's been hoping for.  Congratulations, Ashton!  Please send us lots of photos of you and your new family.  Your foster mom will miss you!

"Daenerys" and her brother "Theon" came to DunRoamin' on December 3, 2019 through the NB SPCA.  They were born about December 3, 2012 and are Yorkshire terriers.

Daenerys required a spay and dental work as her teeth were not in good shape.  She feels much better now.  She is very cute and will put up both ears when you talk to her!  She weighed about seven pounds upon her arrival.  She was very dirty and matted and had had puppies in the recent past.

Daenerys is a bit timid, but with love, time and patience we are confident she will be just fine.  It takes her a little bit of time to become comfortable with people and to trust that they will always be kind to her.   Once she learns trust and confidence, she'll have it made!  She just needs that special family to make that happen.  She is attached to her brother Theon and feels more confident when she is with him, so we are hoping that they might be adopted together.

Theon is much more outgoing and much more confident than his sister.  He weighed a little less than eight pounds upon his arrival and he loves everyone and can't wait to show it.  He also loves his sister and they cuddle up together and enjoy each other's company.  Theon also required dental work, including several major extractions.  He was very dirty and unkempt upon his arrival.  Both terriers have received professional grooming thanks to a very generous lady.  They are much happier, are getting a nutritious diet and all the medical and emotional care they need.  They are now spayed/neutered and will receive all vaccinations as required.

They would like to go to a relatively quiet home where they can acclimatize and become members of the family that they deserve.   They are currently learning to use pee pads and are also learning about how to live in a loving environment.   They are looking forward to a quiet home with patient, loving new families.  Their lives have already changed so much - now they're hoping for that one last change so that they may live happily ever after.  They hope this will be the Christmas present they've been hoping for their entire lives.

On January 3, 2020, Daenerys and her brother Theon were elated when they went to their forever home in Plaster Rock - together!!   They will be spoiled beyond their wildest dreams!  Thanks to everyone who had a part in making this the best day of their entire lives!  Happy New Year!!
